Carrie Underwood honored late country legend Toby Keith when she covered one of his early 90s anthems at Bridgestone Arena in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee.

Underwood performed “A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action” for the massive arena audience when she took the stage at Toby Keith: American Icon . The star-studded special took place in late July, and will air in a two-hour show on Wednesday evening (August 28). Keith released “A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action” on his self-titled debut album in 1993, a 10-track collection that also included his smash-hit debut single, “Should’ve Been a Cowboy.” Underwood also delivered a rendition of “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” in Keith’s honor when she performed at the historic Grand Ole Opry earlier this year.

Other artists to take the stage to remember Keith include Trace Adkins , Priscilla Block , Luke Bryan , Eric Church , Jordan Davis , Scotty Emerick , Brantley Gilbert , Riley Green , HARDY , Tyler Hubbard , Jamey Johnson , Krystal Keith , Ella Langley , Mac McAnally , Ashley McBryde , Parker McCollum , Jelly Roll , Darius Rucker , Clay Walker and Lainey Wilson . A video shared to Keith’s Instagram account on Monday evening (August 26) offered a sneak peek of Underwood’s performance, “from one country legend to another.”

Keith “passed peacefully…surrounded by his family,” according to a statement shared to his social media pages earlier this year. He was 62. Country artists and others mourned his loss in an outpouring of tributes. Keith is survived by his wife, Tricia Lucus , and three children, Shelley Covel Rowland , Krystal Keith and Stelen Keith Covel .

Toby Keith: American Icon will air as a two-hour television special on NBC on Wednesday, August 28 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET.
