Tyrese has finally released his anticipated short film for his new song "Wildflower."

On Wednesday, August 28, The Breakfast Club premiered the official visuals for the R&B singer's latest single off his forthcoming double-album Beautiful Pain . In the 16-minute video directed by Santiago Salviche, Tyrese portrays a rising singer in 1978. He tells his mother about his dreams of becoming a top-charting artist. Three months later, Mrs. Gibson passes away on the same day he’s scheduled to perform his song on "Soul Train.” The tears start to fall when Tyrese speaks to his late mother on stage, and she hears him loud and clear.

"It's a short film called 'Wildflower' dedicated to my mother, rest in peace," Tyrese told The Breakfast Club last week. "It's produced by the legend David Foster and my producer Brandon 'B.A.M.' Hodge... David Foster has never gotten back into the studio to do any other remake of 'Wildflower' until now so I'm very honored that he did this on behalf of my mom and I'm very grateful."

Tyrese has been teasing his short film for the past few weeks. His version of "Wildflower," which was previously remade by New Birth in 1973, debuted last week ahead of his Beautiful Pain album. He also released his single "Don't Think You Ever Loved Me." The song was also produced by Brandon "B.A.M." Hodge and features guitar riffs by Lenny Kravitz and vocals from Le'Andria Johnson .

Tyrese’s Beautiful Pain album drops August 30. Watch the official short film for Tyrese's "Wildflower" below.
