Adele is sharing the reason why fans are about to see a lot less of her in the future.

The "Easy on Me" singer recently opened up about her desire for a "rest" and plans to take a long break after the conclusion of her Las Vegas residency in November, per E! News . Speaking to the crowd at her Munich concert on August 31, Adele shared that once she wraps up her final 10 shows, she's going to take some time away from the stage. The revelation was captured by a fan in attendance and shared to TikTok .

"But after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time and I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break," she said, adding that she will "fantasize" about her time putting on a show for her fans but that she "just [needs] a rest."

"I've really enjoyed performing," she said. "It's been three years now, which is the longest I've done and probably the longest I'll ever do."

In an emotional moment, Adele seemingly held back tears as she shared that she plans to spend her time away living the life she has building over the last several years. The singer previously confirmed that she is engaged to boyfriend Rich Paul after three years of dating.

"I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now," she said. "I want to live my life that I've been building, and I will miss you terribly."

While some fans may be worried, others noted that the break is nothing new for Adele, who often takes time in between album cycles, per People . One commenter consoled fans by writing, "This is what Adele does. Disappears, then comes out with a banger."

This isn't the first time Adele has addressed taking a step back after completing her residency. In July, she told fans that she wanted a "big break" and that she had no plans "at all" to release new music any time soon.
