Danielle Bradbery reintroduced herself with her first new album in more than six years.

Bradbery, 28, delivered her first-ever independent record on Friday morning (September 6). The long-awaited collection infuses elements of other genres — including pop and R&B — into Bradbery’s country sound. Danielle includes her heartfelt ballad, “You Could,” among other tracks that take listeners through the singer-songwriter’s journey of healing from heartbreak, per a press release issued Friday. The former The Voice contestant, who won the show when she was 16 years old, “explores a season of heartache, recounting the trials of a broken relationship, she channels the emotion and rawness of being let down time and time again - being pushed to the brink - and eventually comes out on the other side stronger than before.”

“I’ve learned a lot the last several years, and with Danielle I am truly representing the woman I’ve become,” says Bradbery. “During the recording process, it was important to not only share my story, but also my love for the ranging styles of music that raised me and have continued to inspire me my whole life. This album takes listeners on a journey that is at times heartbreaking and angry, but at its core embodies the creative freedom that anchors the entire work. I’m so proud of this album - my first in almost seven years. I hope it makes you laugh and cry and if you happen to see a piece of yourself somewhere in this; I hope you feel seen and empowered.

“I can’t tell you the roller coaster of emotions that have been running through my heart and mind up until this very moment,” Bradbery continued . “I’d be lying if I said the anxiety and nerves weren’t taking over some days but only because I have worked really hard trying to create a project that was genuine, tells a story, and had intention. That meant taking in a lot of what I learned over the past few years and also taking a look in the mirror and learning a lot about myself…the hard truths too. I have prayed with tears in my eyes, singing praise at the top of my lungs in my car about how God is so so good! All that being said I am just very thankful for all the highs and all the lows that have brought me right here. So I hope you listen and enjoy the journey behind the curtain.”

Bradbery will take the stage to perform album release shows throughout the month. The first one is set for Saturday (September 7) in New York, New York. Bradbery is also set to perform in Los Angeles, California; Chicago, Illinois; and Nashville, Tennessee. Find her music on iHeartRadio here .
