    A 2.9-magnitude earthquake was reported in California on Thursday (September 12), according to the United States Geological Survey .

    The earthquake was centered in Parkfield at a depth of 8.0 kilometers (about 4.97 miles). The USGS said it received one report of a person having felt the earthquake at the time of publication Thursday morning.

    The Parkfield earthquake was reported two days after a 3.4-magnitude earthquake was reported in California on Tuesday (September 10), according to the United States Geological Survey . The earthquake was centered in Middletown at a depth of 6.2 kilometers (about 3.6 miles).

    The Middletown earthquake was reported days after a 3.5-magnitude earthquake was reported in California on Saturday (September 8), according to the United States Geological Survey . The earthquake was centered in Ontario at a depth of 5.9 kilometers (about 3.7 miles).

    A 3.8-magnitude earthquake was also reported in Canada on Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey . The earthquake was centered in Pierreville at a depth of 1.1 kilometers (about 0.6 of a mile).

    The Canadian earthquake was reported days after a 2.5-magnitude earthquake was present in Kansas on August 28, according to the United States Geological Survey . The earthquake was centered in Hill City at a depth of 4.9 kilometers (about three miles).
