Lecrae responded to Kendrick Lamar's recent mention in his latest song by dropping his own version of K.Dot's untitled track.

Lamar stunned the world last week after he dropped his surprise song, which fans have dubbed "Watch The Party Die," exclusively on Instagram. At the beginning of his third verse, Dot shouted out Lecrae by rapping "Sometimes I wonder what Lecrae would do/F**k these n***as up or show 'em just what prayer do?" He also namedropped fellow Christian artist Dee-1 . Lecrae reacted by posting his lengthy verse to IG and used a photo of white Air Force 1's as a nod to the black Air Force's Kendrick posted.

"I was wrestlin' like, should I write a verse?" Lecrae begins. "The culture got enough clout-chasin' vultures out here/Tryna prove they worth, they need attention/They can't imagine me not tryna make myself look bigger off of this Kendrick mention/I can't imagine his position."

In his verse, Lecrae debates whether or not he should respond to Kendrick's track, however, he ends up answering Dot's question. He relates to other rappers by recalling his past struggles with drugs and gang life. He also uses a few biblical references to explain how God helped him overcome his issues and encouraged others to rely on prayer instead of violence.

"I walk through valleys full of evil, I'm aware of it," Lecrae raps. "I can't condemn the world and burn all of the heretics/Love is patient so I'm trustin' in the narrative/And Christ ain't watch the party die, He died instead of it."

Lecrae dropped the song three days after Kendrick Lamar released his track at the beginning of the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. He took to X and saluted Lamar for the shout-out immediately after it dropped.

"Love you Dot….Always here. 🙏🏾" Lecrae wrote.
