The United States Coast Guard released an image of the wreck of the Titan submersible at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean during a public hearing on the tragic implosion last June that claimed five lives.

Stockton Rush , the founder and CEO of OceanGate, was killed along with businessman Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son, Suleman Dawood , French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet , and adventurer Hamish Harding , were all killed on a trip to the bottom of the ocean to see the wreckage of the Titanic.

The photo shows the submersible's tail cone , which broke off from the rest of the vessel. It was found several hundred yards away from the wreck of the Titanic.

The Coast Guard also revealed a timeline of messages sent between the submersible and the Polar Prince, a support ship that hauled the submersible to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

The submersible began its descent at 9:20 a.m. and sent its final message to the Polar Prince around 10:48 a.m. : "Dropped two wts," referring to two 35-pound weights used to slow the submersible down as it sinks. Six seconds later, the Polar Prince lost communication and tracking with the submersible.

The hearing is expected to run through September 27.=
