The latest Texas earthquake was reported one day after a 3.4-magnitude earthquake was reported in Kansas last Thursday (September 19), according to the United States Geological Survey . The earthquake was centered in Danville at a depth of 4.9 kilometers (about three miles).

The earlier Texas earthquake was reported hours after a 6.3-magnitude earthquake was reported in the Northern Mariana Islands on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey . The earthquake was centered in Saipan at a depth of 42.9 kilometers (about 26.7 miles).

The Northern Mariana Islands earthquake was reported days after a 3.4-magnitude earthquake was reported in California on September 13, according to the United States Geological Survey . The earthquake was centered in Malibu at a depth of 10.6 kilometers (about 6.6 miles).
