Tyga & Offset React After They Earn Their First-Ever Diamond Record

Tyga and Offset are celebrating after they earned their first-ever diamond record.

On Tuesday, September 24, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced that Tyga's "Taste" featuring Offset sold 10 million copies since it dropped in 2018. In a video he posted to X formerly known as Twitter, EMPIRE CEO Ghazi Shami and COO Nima Etminan presented the 34-year-old artist with a plaque commemorating the milestone. Offset also reacted to the news in an X post.

"Taste just went diamond 10x platinum😮‍💨🙏🏾 ..Thank you to everyone that streamed it and twerked to it 😀," Tyga wrote.

"Went diamond today God is good," Offset wrote . "Man this big to me."

The RIAA recognizes hits as "Diamond" whenever a song sells over 10 million units. A single digital song sale or 150 on-demand audio and/or video streams equals one equivalent song unit. "Taste" featuring Offset and produced by D.A. Got That Dope dropped six years ago as the lead single of Tyga's 2019 album Legendary via Last Kings Music and EMPIRE.

Tyga and Offset's "Taste" joins a handful of hit rap songs that have gone diamond recently. Artists like Drake , Eminem , 50 Cent , JAY-Z , Nicki Minaj and French Montana have all earned diamond records over the years. Back in February, Post Malone and Swae Lee's "Sunflower" went double diamond after their song off the Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse soundtrack sold over 20 million copies.

Speaking of Nicki Minaj, Tyga is currently on the road with the "Everybody" rapper as a supporting act on the second U.S. leg of her "Pink Friday 2 World Tour."
