4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Reported

A 4.0-magnitude earthquake was reported in Canada on Thursday (September 26), according to the United States Geological Survey .

The earthquake was centered in Saanichton at a depth of 52.0 kilometers (about 32 miles). The USGS said it received 1,103 reports of people having felt the earthquake at the time of publication Thursday morning.

The Canadian earthquake was reported days after a 5.2-magnitude earthquake was reported in Romania on Monday (September 23). The earthquake was centered in Cașoca at a depth of 133.5 kilometers (about 83 miles) on September 16.

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake was also reported in Texas on September 16, according to the United States Geological Survey . The earthquake was centered in Ackerly at a depth of 8.2 kilometers (about 5.1 miles).

The Texas earthquake was reported one day after a 3.4-magnitude earthquake was reported in Kansas on September 19, according to the United States Geological Survey . The earthquake was centered in Danville at a depth of 4.9 kilometers (about three miles).

A 6.3-magnitude earthquake was reported in the Northern Mariana Islands on September 16, according to the United States Geological Survey . The earthquake was centered in Saipan at a depth of 42.9 kilometers (about 26.7 miles).

The Northern Mariana Islands earthquake was reported days after a 3.4-magnitude earthquake was reported in California on September 13, according to the United States Geological Survey . The earthquake was centered in Malibu at a depth of 10.6 kilometers (about 6.6 miles).
