The Indiana Fever were eliminated by the Connecticut Sun in the first-round of the WNBA Playoffs, ending Caitlin Clark 's historic rookie season.

The Sun defeated the Fever, 87-81, in Game 2 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, Wednesday (September 25) night, despite a game-high 25 points from Clark, who shot 10 of 23 from the field and 3 of 12 on 3-point attempts. The playoff elimination caps off a rookie campaign that began with Clark being selected at No. 1 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft and included an All-Star Game appearance, several WNBA records and an improbable playoff berth after the Fever's slow start.

“I’m a tough grader. I feel like I had a solid year,” Clark told reporters after the loss via the New York Post . “For me, the fun part is like I feel like I’m just scratching the surface and I’m the one that’s nit picking every single thing I do. I know I want to help this franchise. … I know there’s a lot of room for me to continue to improve so that’s what excites me the most. I feel like I continue to get a lot better.”

Clark averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds during her rookie season, setting WNBA records for assists in a single-season (337) and game (19), as well as rookie records for points (769), assists, 3-pointers (122) and triple-doubles (2).
