Tyler Hubbard recently addressed the tragedy surrounding Hurricane Helene, a deadly, Category 4 hurricane that battered the Southeast over the weekend, and tied the disaster into his newly-released single, " Heroes ."

The star released the track on Friday (September 27), hours after Helene struck the Big Bend region of Florida, claiming lives across the state in addition to a handful of fatalities in South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia (per CNN ), where catastrophic flooding occurred as a result of the devastating storm.

"I just wanted to check in and let you guys know it's been crazy. [It's] been a heavy weekend. The whole Southeast just got hit with a massive hurricane the same day that I released a song about heroes which is not lost on me how many people are becoming heroes this weekend."

Hubbard revealed that he used to help his dad, who owned a tree business in Georgia, help clean up and rebuild communities after hurricanes. In an attempt to find the silver lining hidden within the rubble, the artist praised the people that come together to remedy tragedy and put their community at the forefront, which also happens to be the theme of his new song.

"And I know that as devastating as that is, it's also a time where people come together, communities are built, people love on each other, help each other out , so that is the heart of this song. That's the heart of this weekend I'm sure for many, many places in the South."

The former Florida Georgia Line band member concluded his heartfelt message by assuring that he is praying for everyone affected by the hurricane, and that he hopes his song can bring people together following the destruction that occurred this weekend.
