Lil Reese is being held without bond after he was arrested for an alleged domestic altercation with his ex-girlfriend.

According to a report TMZ published on Monday, September 30, the 31-year-old artist was taken into custody by police in Houston. Reese was at The Address nightclub on Sunday evening when he was approached by cops who were already posted up at the venue. Witnesses said police surrounded the rapper and placed him in handcuffs two weeks after an arrest warrant was issued. Reese, born Tavares Taylor, is accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend during an incident at a strip club.

Police said Lil Reese was inside The Pink House in Houston last month when he ran into his ex-girlfriend as she was leaving her work shift at around 6:30 a.m. The two had dated for two months before the woman recently ended their relationship. Reese allegedly tried to kiss his ex several times during their brief run-in. After she rejected him, the rapper allegedly got angry and punched her in the right cheek. He also allegedly choked her out after he put pressure on her neck with both his arms.

Luckily, the woman's friend was nearby and called on security to break them up. Reese's ex was left with redness and fingernail scratches on her neck, which was enough for cops to get an arrest warrant. The alleged victim told police that she was "gasping for air" and feared for her life.

"Mr. Taylor vehemently denies these false accusations," Lil Reese's attorney Carl Moore told TMZ . "We look forward to his day in court."

Lil Reese will remain at a jail in Houston after a judge denied his bond.
