New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered an apparent low-ankle sprain during Sunday's (October 6) 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London, but is expected to be "fine," head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on Monday (October 7).

“All the preliminary stuff says he’ll be fine,” Saleh said via the New York Post .

Rodgers, who missed 16 games due to an Achilles injury in Week 1 of the 2023 season, was seen limping after taking a big hit in the fourth quarter on Sunday. The 40-year-old was sacked eight times and hit 25 times during the Jets' past two games against the Vikings and Denver Broncos, both of which were losses.

“I talked with him (Sunday) night,” Saleh said via the New York Post . “He’s doing fine. Obviously, he’s a little banged up, but he feels good.”

Rodgers' knee was already "a little swollen" due to "wear and tear" prior to Sunday's game, according to Saleh. The four-time NFL MVP will have an extra day to prepare as the Jets host the AFC East Division rival Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football .

Rodgers suffered his season-ending Achilles injury during the Jets' opening drive of their Week 1 Monday Night Football home game against the Bills last season.
