Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson will likely be active for the first time this season, but serve as the backup to Justin Fields , for the team's Week 6 game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday (October 13), head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters on Friday (October 11).

Tomlin said Wilson "had a good week" in practice to be active, however, was more concerned about "rust."

"Yeah, he's probably gonna be active as the No. 2 quarterback," Tomlin said via NFL.com . "I like what I've seen out there, but again, health and rust are two different things. I thought he had a good week displaying his health, his ability to protect himself. Now it's just a process of getting reacclimated."

Wilson, 35, signed with the Steelers as a free agent and was named as the team's starter prior to the season, but was ruled out before Week 1 due to a calf injury.

Fields, 25, who was acquired in a trade with the Chicago Bears days after Wilson, has led the Steelers to a 3-2 record in five starts, throwing for 961 yards with five touchdowns and one interception on 92 of 136 passing, while also recording 172 yards on 44 rushing attempts. The Steelers will face the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium at 4:05 p.m. ET on Sunday.
