Lainey Wilson — and a special guest — will perform the famous Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show during the Dallas Cowboys game this Thanksgiving, the team announced on Sunday (October 13).

Wilson appeared alongside the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders to make the announcement . The reigning CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year said: “Lainey Wilson here, training to be an honorary Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader for The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff halftime show. You might know me for my bell bottoms, but I wanna be known for my bell-ringing, too. I am so excited to announce that I have teamed up with The Salvation Army to love beyond the holidays and make a difference in our communities all year round. Tune in to watch me and a special guest this Thanksgiving on Fox. We’re gonna kick off the giving season right.

“Am I the first person to do that in bell bottoms?” Wilson said after joining the cheerleaders in high kicks. one of them replied, “I think you are.”

Previous Thanksgiving halftime show performers include Reba McEntire , Randy Travis , Clint Black , LeAnn Rimes , Toby Keith , Sheryl Crow , Carrie Underwood , Kelly Clarkson , Keith Urban , Kenny Chesney , Luke Bryan , Eric Church , Thomas Rhett , Kane Brown , Luke Combs , Dolly Parton and more.

Wilson will take the stage months after releasing her highly-anticipated new album, Whirlwind . The 14-track record follows Wilson’s Grammy Award-winning Bell Bottom Country . Whirlwind includes “Country’s Cool Again,” “Good Horses” featuring Miranda Lambert , “Whirlwind,” “Call A Cowboy,” “Hang Tight Honey,” “4x4xU,” and more.

Whirlwind is kind of the Western sister of Bell Bottom Country ,” Wilson said in a statement when her album arrived . “Since that album, I have gotten to experience so many new things and meet folks from different walks of life. Because of that, I’ve become a better songwriter, and I have more understanding. I feel like I’ve truly stepped into what it is that I’m called to be doing. Ironically, I found my path within all the craziness—and that’s the whirlwind.”
