A 26-year-old British man tragically fell to his death from Spain's tallest bridge , the Castilla-La Mancha Bridge, while attempting to create content for social media. The incident occurred on Sunday (October 13) morning in Talavera de la Reina, a city located 70 miles southwest of Madrid. The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was accompanied by another British man, aged 24, at the time of the accident.

The Castilla-La Mancha Bridge, standing at nearly 630 feet, is not only the tallest in Spain but also one of the tallest in Europe. Despite climbing the bridge being strictly prohibited, it has become a popular spot for daredevils and social media creators seeking to capture dramatic footage. "We have reiterated on many occasions that it cannot be done under any circumstances," said M acarena Munoz , Talavera city councilor for public security.

Spanish media suggested that heavy rain in Talavera prior to the accident may have made the bridge slippery , potentially contributing to the tragic fall. The man's body has been taken to a funeral home, according to a statement from the town council.

This incident underscores the risks that online content creators and social media influencers often take to capture engaging content, sometimes resulting in fatal accidents. The man's death follows a series of similar incidents worldwide, including the death of Indian content creator Aanvi Kamdar , who fell into a gorge while shooting Instagram videos, and a 17-year-old boy in California who fell from a bridge while performing a social media stunt.
