Sydney Sweeney Looks Unrecognizable In Dramatic Transformation For New Role

According to E!News , the Eurphoria star is currently filming for a new role, and she looks absolutely nothing like herself. Sweeney is gearing up to portray boxing legend Christy Martin as part of a "yet-untitled project" that will tell the story of Martin's life and marriage to her coach, James Martin .

In photos obtained by E!News , Sweeney is wearing a short, black wig, standing out as quite the contrast from her usual bright, blonde locks. The Anyone But You actress is draped in baggy workout clothes, complete with a bandana around her forehead, as she walks under an umbrella.

The role is very different from previous contributions Sweeney has made to the entertainment industry as both an actress and a producer , but she welcomes the challenge.

"I started working with [my friend’s dad] Andy and we would just talk character work. The number one thing he always told me was to make sure that I separated myself as much as possible from my characters. Don’t put any of my own memories, emotions, feelings, people, relationships, anything in the thoughts of my characters, so that I can jump in and out."

The star also shared news of her involvement in the upcoming film to Instagram on Wednesday (October 16), revealing that she's been "immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman—a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring," aside a series of photos from set.

A release date for the highly-anticipated film has yet to be announced as filming proceeds.
