Breaking Benjamin Returns With 'Awaken,' First New Single In 5 Years

Breaking Benjamin has returned with their first singe in five years, "Awaken," which comes on the heels that they recently signed to BMG.

In energetic anthem "Awaken," lead singer Benjamin Burnley sings in the song's chorus, "Stay forever in the light/ I awaken I arise/ I still hear the call of life. I’m taken by the tide."

In a statement, Breaking Benjamin guitarist Jasen Rauch said of the band's new song, "Working on this song has been something new and exciting for all of us I believe. We've been able to explore more of who we are traditionally, while at the same time push boundaries and try things we haven’t done in the past. Musically we’ve tried hard to stay true to what Breaking Benjamin is, but offer a new take as well."

"Awaken" is Breaking Benjamin's first new music since the release of their 2020 album Aurora , which earned them their 10th No. 1 rock radio hit with "Far Away ft. Scooter Ward ." The band's last full-length studio album, Ember , was released back in 2018.

The band has been busy traveling, and is currently on the road, wrapping up their Fall tour with support from Staind , Daughtry and Lakeview .
