Nandi Bushell experienced "the best night of [her] entire life" in 2021 when she performed "Everlong" with the Foo Fighters . At the time, the musical prodigy was just 11 years old. And Taylor Hawkins gifted her a pair of drumsticks. Unfortunately, the next year Bushell used those sticks to perform "Learn to Fly" with the band at a tribute concert at Wembley Stadium for the drummer, who tragically passed away in March 2022.

Now, the 14-year-old drumming sensation teamed up with Drumeo to perform the drum part of that song again, using those special sticks. “Taylor’s amazing, he’s the nicest person,” Bushell said in a video recorded by Drumeo. “He gave me these sticks, which are the sticks I performed with at Wembley.”

“It was a bittersweet moment, because of course it’s amazing to play Wembley Stadium, but it was why I was playing there,” she added about the experience of performing at the tribute.

“Taylor has a lot of energy,” Bushell noted about Hawkins. “He’s a powerhouse on the drums, a beast. His hits are always really hard, and he’s just incredible on the drum kit.”

During the cover, Drumeo took out the recorded percussion track so Bushell's playing is mixed with the rest of the track. Watch her perform "Learn to Fly" below.
