Liam Payne Reportedly Dead At 31 Following Fall From Hotel Balcony

Liam Payne has reportedly died after a fall from his hotel balcony while he was in Argentina.

According to TMZ , the former One Direction singer apparently fell from his hotel room balcony, which was on the fourth floor at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, and it is unknown if this "was intentional or accidental." TMZ also reports that, according to witnesses, the fall happened just after 5pm in Buenos Aires and that "Liam had been acting erratic in the hotel lobby earlier in the day," smashing his laptop and had to "be carried back to his room."

Furthermore, a photo was obtained by TMZ of Liam's body, which show the singer's tattoos including the clock on his left forearm, and scorpion on his abdomen.

A few years ago, Payne had opened about past addiction and mental health struggles during an appearance on " The Diary of a CEO with Steve Bartlett " podcast in 2021.

Liam was only 31.

A few weeks ago, Liam shared that he was in Argentina to go to Niall Horan's concert at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires. Before the show, in a series of videos posted to Payne's Instagram Stories, he explained that he was going to Argentina "to talk" to Horan. He shared, "Niall Horan's playing down there, and I think we might just go and say 'Hello!'" He added, "It's been a while since me and Niall have spoken, we've got a lot to talk about, and I would like to square up a couple things with the boy. No bad vibes, or anything like that, but just, um ... we need to talk."

Payne rose to fame as part of One Direction after being discovered on The X Factor in 2010, and remained a part of the band until their hiatus in 2015. Liam then went on to pursue a solo career, releasing his debut album, LP1 , in 2019, and most recently, a single titled "Teardrops."
