'Officially Christmas': Dan + Shay Debut Holiday Album Teased For 10 Years

It’s officially Christmas for Dan + Shay .

The award-winning duo released their first-ever Christmas project — making it a double album — after teasing it for about a decade. Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney announced It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album on Thursday morning (October 17), giving fans less than 24 hours to wait before the collection’s arrival on Friday (October 18).

It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album includes Dan + Shay’s renditions of beloved Christmas classics, in addition to originals and previously-released favorites. Dan + Shay wrote or co-wrote 11 tracks on the 21-track double album, including three tracks that feature Smyers as the sole writer, according to a press release from the duo’s record label. Smyers produced the record alongside Scott Hendricks .

“ It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album is a 21-song collection of brand new originals and our take on classics that you already know and love,” Dan + Shay said as they announced the album on Thursday. “This project has been a decade in the making, and we are so proud of every single note. We truly leaned into our love for the holiday season and think we found some magic in these songs.
