Lahrel & Afro B Team Up For Powerful New Banger 'Sit Down'

Lahrel recruits Afro B to jump on her rare, self-righteous anthem ahead of her upcoming project.

On Friday, October 18, the UK-based artist delivered her latest single "Sit Down" featuring Afro B via Plum Music. The genre-bending record — produced by duo Pablo & Swrd — is a fusion of Dancehall and Afrobeats that puts Lahrel's confidence and versatility in the spotlight. She uses the phrase "boy, sit down" to dismiss her haters and protect her self-worth.

"This song is about how I move to my own rhythm, unafraid to claim myspace, in my own words on my own terms, at my own pace," Lahrel tells iHeartRadio.

When she hit the studio in Miami a few months ago, Lahrel knew she wanted to make an international banger. During a packed studio session with her producers, she began freestyling over the infectious drums until she came up with a catchy hook and laid down her assertive verse. Afro B came in later with the ultimate finishing touch that made the song what it is today. This won't be the only version of it either. Lahrel is currently preparing a Latin remix of "Sit Down" featuring Lalo EBratt & Rafa Pabon.

Lahrel's new single arrives ahead of her upcoming EP. The untitled project will feature "Sit Down" and might contain her other previously released singles like "Move For Me," "Woman No Cry" and "Witness" featuring OMI. Her brand-new EP is set to arrive in early 2025.
