Oklahoma man, arrested in Springfield in 2023, sentenced for bank fraud and identity theft
Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) –An Oklahoma City man was sentenced Thursday to nearly four years in prison for bank fraud and aggravated identity theft. Gerald Duran, 49, was arrested at a Springfield bank in December 2023 attempting to cash a cashier’s check he had fraudulently obtained, according to court documents.

Urbana, IL – A Chicago man was arrested Tuesday in connection with an alleged theft at a Walgreens in Champaign’s Campustown. According to University of Illinois Police, 29-year-old Geovontae Galloway was apprehended after officers responded to a shoplifting report at the Walgreens on East Green Street at 12:36 p.m. The store manager reported three men stealing merchandise and placing it in their backpacks.
