PARR acquires Rochester True Value Hardware & Lumber
ROCHESTER, Wash. — PARR, an American building-material supplier, has acquired Rochester True Value Hardware & Lumber in Rochester, WA, which will be its 25th lumber yard. PARR Lumber Rochester will service a broad area that includes Olympia and Centralia. PARR will retain eight mostly long-tenured team members as part of the acquisition.

Mariners' Collin Snider: Snags third win Friday
Snider (3-2) got the extra-inning win over the Giants on Friday, firing a scoreless 10th inning during which he issued an intentional walk and recorded two strikeouts. Snider was called on to preserve a 5-5 tie in the 10th after Andres Munoz had struck out the side in the ninth, and the former responded with a crisp showing of his own. The right-hander lowered his season ERA to a stellar 0.98 with what was his 13th consecutive appearance without surrendering an earned run, and he now has four multi-strikeout tallies in his last nine trips to the mound as well.
Everett Police warn of cookie salesman scam
EVERETT, Wash. - Police in Everett are sending out a warning to area residents amid an apparent cookie salesman scam. The department's statement claims reports from last week show two male suspects are claiming to be selling cookies for a fundraiser, but instead are charging thousands of dollars to community members’ debit cards when they attempt to make a purchase.

Suspect charged with murder and animal cruelty in fatal carjacking of 80-year-old dog walker. King County prosecutors have filed charges against a man they say forced his way into a vehicle occupied by a beloved 80-year-old Seattle dog walker, pushed her out and ran over her before going to a park and stabbing her dog to death. Forty-eight-year-old Jahmed Kamal Haynes was charged Friday with first-degree murder, second-degree assault and first-degree animal cruelty.
