Micha and Grace Sinclair welcomed two rescue cats into their Portland home and their life expanded. Grace trained cats Xalia and Mot to wear a harness as they wander through the couple’s attractive triangular yard, and Micha built a large screened cat patio, or catio, that allows the felines to exit one of the kitchen windows and safely nap or play in the outdoor air. The cats can see birds, but they can’t catch them.
Man killed in Salem during dispute not easily pushed to violence, sister says
SALEM, Ore. (KATU) — The family of a homicide victim is speaking out. In February, Alejandro Silva-Ramirez was shot and killed in Northeast Salem. Police said the shooting stemmed from a group of men gathering on the street for a dispute. One person was killed, two people were hurt.
Portland loses another public records fight
Portland has suffered yet another legal defeat in its attempt to keep city records from the public. Last week, the Oregon Court of Appeals ruled that the city was wrong to conceal employees’ personal cellphone numbers in records requested by the public. This leaves the city, which has decided not to ask the Oregon Supreme Court to review the case, on the hook for tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees.

The 19th annual Port of Toledo Wooden Boat Show is a family friendly two-day event celebrating Toledo’s maritime heritage. A variety of vessels will be on display including classic vessels, unique owner-built boats and the Port’s trio of Teak Lady sailboats.
