Generations of satisfied customers can tell you: a plumbing company doesn’t stay in business for 95 years unless it’s doing quality work. J.E. Redington Plumbing Company was founded by the grandfather of the current owners in 1929 when Kirkwood was still developing as a suburb. J.E. Redington Sr. then passed the torch to his son Jack Redington Jr. who moved it to 639 Leffingwell in 1969. Jack’s sons, Rick and Jeff, took over the reins in the late 1990s.

Byrnes Mill annexes about .95-acre lot
The city of Byrnes Mill just got a little bigger. The Byrnes Mill Board of Alderpersons voted 4-0 June 26 to annex an approximately .95-acre vacant lot at 27 Walters Place into the city limits. Ward 1 Alderman Bob Prado and Ward 2 Alderwoman Cindy Davies were absent from the meeting.
Missouri Botanical Garden offering free tours for disability community
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The Missouri Botanical Garden will offer free access tours and classes designed for the disability community. Throughout the summer and fall, they will be offering tours with both American Sign Language and audio description interpretation. The Garden has been teaming up with the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Missouri Chapter to provide specialized tours to those with memory loss and their families.
This I-44 ramp closure in St. Louis could affect your commute
ST. LOUIS — Drivers coming across from the Metro East during the morning commute may want to take note of a big ramp closure off of Interstate 44 in the Soulard area. The Missouri Department of Transportation closed the ramp from westbound I-44 to Gravois Avenue last week, and it will stay closed for one more week. Crews have been working on curbing, drainage and guardrails.

Man accused of murdering girlfriend in Dutchtown
In Dutchtown, a 40-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend on Friday, as reported by First Alert 4 from St. Louis, MO. Prosecutors in St. Louis have pressed charges against Derrick A. Smith, a resident of the city, for first-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm. The victim, who has not been publicly identified, was 38 years old at the time of their death.
