Inspiring the Next Generation of Aviators as Students Take Flight at St. Louis Downtown Airport
CAHOKIA HEIGHTS - Eighteen area high school juniors and seniors were introduced to the fascinating world of aviation during Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC)’s inaugural Aviation Summer Sampler Camp held July 11 through July 13. During the three-day camp, they learned about all aspects of aviation through a combination of hands-on experiences, panels with students and professionals, and presentations by special guest speakers. The highlight of the camp came on the final day, when campers and their families gathered at St. Louis Downtown Airport to close out their experience with a flight in the cockpit of a real plane.
Man shoots, kills his brother in north St. Louis
ST. LOUIS — A 64-year-old man has been charged in the death of his brother Sunday evening in north St. Louis. Gregory Allen was charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm after police said he shot and killed his brother, Robert Allen, who was living in the same home.
Sunflower farm experience returns to Eckert’s farm
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Eckert’s Farm announced Monday the return of its Sunflower Farm Experience. This event will take place on Thursday, July 25 to Sunday, Aug. 4. Guests can walk through a two-acre field of sunflowers reaching up to five feet, and they can cut your own sunflowers to take home. The field will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis-native Andy Cohen featured another St. Louisan on his show "Watch What Happens Live" Sunday night. Clementine's Naughty and Nice Ice Cream CEO and founder Tamara Keefe was behind the bar for Sunday's episode of the late-night talk show in honor of National Ice Cream Day. Keefe served up boozy ice cream and flavors from the creamery's new World's Fair-inspired collection to Cohen and his guests, reality star Danielle Cabral from "Real Housewives of New Jersey" and actor David Arquette, best known for his role as Dewey Riley in the "Scream" franchise.
