One person was killed and two other people were injured following a stabbing in Allegheny County on Thursday. Police said they found a man with multiple stab wounds on the porch of a house along Worthington Street in Versailles at about 8 p.m., according to WPXI and WTAE. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the latest edition of his weekly radio show on 93.7 The Fan, Pittsburgh Pirates general manager Ben Cherington turned his attention to the July 30 trade deadline. Prior to the 2024 season, the thought of the Pirates being deadline buyers would have sounded like a best-case scenario. Now, with the deadline just over a week away, it appears the likeliest scenario. The Pirates have had a recent run of success, including a six-game win streak that pulled them to within half-game of the last National League wild card spot. It shouldn't be too much to ask for them to lock up that wild card spot, especially given the depth of their playoff-caliber pitching rotation, but it's clear that they can use some upgrades on offense.
