Former Steelers lineman Isaiah Buggs sentenced to hard labor on animal cruelty charges
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Former Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs was convicted on two counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty charges. Tuscaloosa County District Judge Joanne Jannik sentenced Buggs on July 19 to a year of hard labor, ordering him to serve 60 days. The rest would be suspended for two years “pending the behavior of the defendant.”

British indie-pop musician Amber Bain brings her acclaimed project, The Japanese House, to the Roxian Theatre this evening for a concert. She plays plays guitar, synthesizer and keyboard; as well as singing. Just off touring with Maggie Rogers, Bain has recently released her country-influenced single “:)” aka Smiley Face. The moniker “The Japanese House” was inspired by a stay at a cottage in Cornwall, England, that she and her family had vacationed at for a week during her childhood. The property had been previously owned by Kate Winslet and was furnished in a Japanese style. Her latest EP is ITEIAD Sessions (In the End it Always Does) contains live versions of songs from her second album In the End It Always Does. It was released in 2023.
