Eugenie and Beatrice ‘Not Interested’ in Fighting for Harry and Meghan to Return to Royal Fold

Prince William is lining up big things for Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, who are giving Meghan and Harry the cold shoulder and openly admitting they’re Team Wales all the way, a source exclusively tells In Touch.

“They don’t have any problem with Meghan and Harry, but they’re smart enough to know where the power is now and they’re aligning themselves with the winning team.”

It’s no secret relations between Buckingham Palace and the Sussexes have been icy for the past few years. In January 2020, Harry, 40, whisked his blushing bride Meghan, 43, to her native Southern California and renounced all official royal duties in favor of launching a series of for- and not-for-profit ventures.

Besides sitting down with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 for an interview titled Oprah with Harry and Meghan, the couple has started a lifestyle brand and signed a deal with Netflix for the docuseries Harry & Meghan, which explores their post-royal lives, among other endeavors.

While that sounds nice and good, as recently reported, Harry has been conducting some soul searching and, following the death of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth, decided to dip his toe back into royal waters.

As King Charles battles cancer, former royal butler Grant Harrold claimed that Harry slipped his father a covert message during his New York City trip by his choice of speaking venues, referencing his late mother Princess Diana, in an attempt to rejoin the royal fold.

Queen-to-be Kate, 42, has been the driving force behind trying to get her heir apparent hubby to welcome his brother back with open arms, but it hasn’t been successful so far and necessity dictates she stick with the palace line publicly. Prince William, 42, has made it clear that, while he loves his brother, the abdication of official duties can’t be so easily forgiven.

Queen Camilla also reportedly did “not encourage” a meeting between King Charles and his estranged son and daughter-in-law as she didn’t want her husband to be “subjected to unnecessary stress” amid his ongoing cancer battle and ahead of his upcoming trip to Australia, according to the Daily Beast.

Additionally, Princess Eugenie, 34, and Beatrice, 36, had been pushing to thaw the iced-out former royal couple up to now.

Though, according to the source, “they also feel a real sense of loyalty to William, and of course Kate, after what she’s been through and are very concerned about not doing anything that might upset them during such a delicate time.”

“Meghan and Harry call and try to get them involved. It’s an open secret they’d love to have them on their side, but Beatrice and Eugenie just aren’t interested in playing that game,” the insider says.

“They’ve sat on the fence for a very long time, and even gone so far as to try and play peacemakers but they’re not going to push it and put their own necks on the line.”

“Fact is, everyone knows William is keeping count of who has his back and anyone that doesn’t make their allegiance to him clear runs the risk of suffering the consequences. Beatrice and Eugenie simply can’t risk getting on his bad side so they’ve turned their backs on Meghan and Harry.”
