Amy Slaton Shares 1st Instagram Post of Sons Gage and Glenn Since Her Arrest at a Zoo in September

1000-Lb. Sisters star Amy Slaton returned to Instagram after a lengthy hiatus to share her first post since her arrest in September.

The TLC star, 36, took to the social media platform with photos of her sons, Gage and Glenn, wearing matching Casper the Friendly Ghost Halloween pajamas on Wednesday, October 16. In the caption, Amy simply added, “2024.” It marked her first Instagram post since July 6.

Amy’s photos of her sons also marked her first time posting on Instagram since she was arrested on child endangerment and drug possession charges at Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo on September 2. The arrest came after officials responded to a 911 call about a zoo guest who was bitten by a camel.

“An employee at the safari park called 911 reporting that they needed an ambulance because someone had been bit by a camel,” public information officer Stephen Sutton explained in a statement.

Amy had been visiting the zoo with Gage, 3, and Glenn, 2, as well as a man named Brian Scott Lovvorn. As police and EMS officials responded to her camel bite, “deputies were immediately overtaken by suspicious odors” coming from her vehicle, the police department shared via Facebook at the time.

The mom of two was “arrested on illegal possession of Schedule I, illegal possession of Schedule VI, and two counts of child endangerment.” Despite being transported out of the zoo on a stretcher after the Labor Day incident, Amy was placed under arrest and “booked into the Crockett County Jail.”

According to Sutton, police discovered “what they believed to be mushrooms” and “what they believed to be marijuana” inside Amy’s vehicle “in plain sight.”

“The charges and allegations referenced in this release are merely accusations of criminal conduct and not evidence. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law,” Sutton said.

Amy was released on September 3 on a $10,000 bond placed by brother Chris Combs. She and Brian appeared in court on September 5, where the reality TV personality pleaded not guilty to drug possession and child endangerment charges. Amy is set to appear back in Crockett County Court on November 7.

Amy shares custody of her sons with ex-husband Michael Halterman. She explained during a February episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters that she gets the boys “70 percent of the time, [while] Michael gets ‘em 30.”

On the day of the arrest, Gage and Glenn were in Amy’s care, prompting sister Tammy Slaton to pick them up following the incident at the zoo, a source told People. However, “the source could not confirm whether Tammy picked up the children at the zoo or later in the afternoon at the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office,” the outlet reported.

It’s unclear if Amy’s arrest will affect her and Michael’s custody agreement. The former mill operator, 41, initially requested 50/50 custody of their sons, but Amy fought back.

“I was the chef, I was the cook, I was the nanny, I was everything in that house. He was the video game player,” she explained on 1000-Lb. Sisters. “I raise those kids. I made the bath waters. You don’t know how your f–king son likes his bath water, don’t play with me. There should be no reason why he needs extra days with the kids when he’s not even gonna take care of ‘em. It’s not you gonna be having the kids, it’s gonna be your mother.”
