One Direction alum Niall Horan was seen out for the first time since former bandmate Liam Payne’s death.

The Voice coach, 31, was spotted out on a walk with girlfriend Amelia Woolley in London on Thursday, October 17, according to photos published by The Sun. The outing came one day after Liam died at 31 years old in Argentina.

Niall wore a green jacket, navy pants, white sneakers and a green and white Muirfield Village golf club cap for the outing. His eyes were not visible under a pair of black sunglasses, and he had a somber expression on his face. The “Slow Hands” singer held a frisbee in his hand as Amelia, 27, walked a white and brown-spotted dog on a red leash. She wore a long beige coat over white pants and sneakers.

Liam died on Wednesday, October 16, after he fell off a third floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, where he had checked in three days prior, In Touch confirmed.

In Touch learned that a 911 call was received at 5:04 PM, but the “Strip That Down” singer was found dead in the hotel’s internal courtyard when authorities arrived on the scene. “There was no possibility of resuscitating him,” police said. “He had extremely severe injuries that were incompatible with life due to the fall.”

“According to the emergency medical team sent to the scene, [Liam] had a fracture in the base of his skull [and] extremely serious injuries,” which led to his immediate death, Buenos Aires emergency services chief Alberto Crescenti confirmed.

Local authorities later confirmed that Liam “jumped from the balcony of his room” before his death. Pablo Policicchio, the communications director for the Buenos Aires Security Ministry, revealed the news in a statement to the Associated Press and revealed that authorities were called after a report from the hotel manager about an “aggressive man possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”

Liam and girlfriend Kate Cassidy arrived in Argentina on September 30 to attend Niall’s concert on October 2. Videos from the night showed the singer interacting with fans and dancing to the music with Kate, 25. His girlfriend left the South American country on October 14, leaving Liam alone, In Touch learned.

Niall has not yet publicly reacted to the news of his former bandmate’s death, nor have One Direction stars Harry Styles and Zayn Malik. Louis Tomlinson was the first band member to break his silence on Thursday.

“I am beyond devastated to be writing this but yesterday I lost a brother. Liam was somebody I looked up to everyday, such a positive, funny, and kind soul,” he wrote. “I first met Liam when he was 16 and I was 18, I was instantly amazed by his voice but more importantly as time went on I got a chance to see the kind brother I’d longed all my life for.”

Louis, 32, continued, “Liam was an incredible songwriter with a great sense of melody, we often spoke of getting back in the studio together to try and recreate the writing chemistry we had built up in the band.”

Harry’s mom, Anne Twist, also spoke out hours after Liam died.

“Just a boy …” she captioned an image of a broken heart emoji.

Liam’s family reacted to the news in a few brief statements.

“We are utterly devastated by the news,” an unidentified family member told The Daily Mail on Thursday.

“We are heartbroken,” the family later added, per the outlet. “Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time.”

Liam was raised in Codsall, England, by mom Karen Payne and dad Geoff Payne, as well as two older sisters, Nicola Payne and Ruth Payne.
