UPDATE: 300 tons of potatoes reportedly dumped in Quincy
QUINCY - A long, tall mound of spuds line the railroad tracks in Quincy as of Friday. Jamie Nguyen of Jones Produce reached out to confirm that the potatoes did not belong to her employer and it remains unknown as to who dumped the spuds. In total, about 300 tons of potatoes are situated north of the railroad tracks off Columbia Way on the city's eastside. Nguyen says the potatoes have been piling up for a week. Source ONE News is still confirming details about how the potatoes ended up there as there was no public announcement about the surplus available for the taking. It's not known if the potatoes are fit for consumption.
Chip-In Fore Cancer Tournament raises nearly $9,000
Seventy-four golfers and a team of volunteers gathered at the Ellensburg Golf Club on Friday, June 28 to play for a special purpose. The 18-Hole Ladies Golf League hosted the Chip-In for Cancer Tournament, which raised close to $9,000 for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and the Gretchen Weller foundation thanks to 35 sponsors and families.
