Independence County Judge: Emergency personnel quickly respond to injured logger
Independence County Judge Kevin Jeffery told White River Now that a logger was injured Friday afternoon on Cedar Grove Road in Charlotte when a tree fell on the logger. Charlotte Fire Chief Andy Crigler and the Charlotte Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene with an Independence County OEM John Deere Gator stationed at the fire station, which allowed the Charlotte FD to respond quickly and provide rescue services.

A man wanted in Arkansas and Ohio has been arrested after being discovered living in the woods in the Sulphur Rock area. According to court information, investigators with the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Independence County Sheriff’s Department responded on June 20 to a report of a “wanted man” living in “an old run-down camper” about 200 yards off Vaughan Street in Sulphur Rock.
