State Police say the name of the fatal accident victim who died in an accident in Cohocton on Wednesday, was Adrian V. Gregory-Kielbasa,. On July 3, 2024, at approximately 4:55 p.m., the New York State Police in Bath responded to a report of a fatal MVA on State Route 371 near State Route 21 in the town of Cohocton.
Steamers Beat Salamanca In Both Games, In Friday’s Double Header
The Hornell Steamers swept a pair from the Salamanca Lizards on Friday evening. The Steamers won the opener 14-7 and the nightcap 5-1. In the opener, Hornell exploded for ten runs in the 1st inning and never looked back. Elijah Nichols (Arkansas State) led off with a single before a single by Alex Dupuy (LSU Eunice). The pair executed a double steal to make it 1-0. Jackson Legg (LSU Eunice) singled and Dupuy scored when the pair executed another double steal. Braden McLin (Louisiana Christian) drew a walk before Finn Ellis (U of Charleston) hit a RBI single. Markus Brehm (Finger Lakes CC) hit a RBI single, Nicolas Schwing (Holmes JC) hit a RBI single, and Ty Kenney (Houghton) hit a RBI double. As the inning continued, Nichols collected a RBI double, McLin added a RBI single, and Dupuy scored on another double steal.
Sad news: Wellsville man dies after ATV accident
On July 4, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., State Police were called to County Road 38 in the town of Alma for a report of an ATV accident. An investigation determined that the driver of the ATV, Jesse M. Bestine, 26, along with one passenger, Zachary J. Barnett, 25, both of Wellsville, were traveling east on County Road 38, when Bestine swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle causing the ATV to overturn several times.

WELLSVILLE — A Pennsylvania man was arrested Wednesday for an alleged shooting during a party in the town of Wellsville, New York State police reported Thursday. Gregory S. Miller, 54, of Penndel in Bucks County, was charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree criminal use of a weapon.
Pennsylvania man arrested on multiple charges after shooting at party
A shooting at a party Wednesday night near Wellsville led to the arrest of a Pennsylvania man on multiple charges, state police in Amity reported. Gregory S. Miller, 54, of Penndel, near Philadelphia, was charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree criminal use of a weapon and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is held in Allegany County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Elections are held each year on the third Tuesday in May; each Board member serves a term of five years. The Board of Education’s regular meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. (except December and May) in the Board Conference Room. Everyone is invited to attend.
Man with an active warrant sought in Allegany County
CUBA, N.Y. — An Allegany County police department is searching for a man with an active warrant. Harry Strong, 18, was first arrested Monday afternoon when the Cuba Police Department said he allegedly stole a family's pet cat. He was charged with trespassing, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, and filing a false written statement, then released on an appearance ticket.
