Tidioute’s Bilott Wins Three Medals at 2024 Genbu-Kai Karate Tournament
NEW CASTLE, Pa. – Nelson’s FTMA Karate Team Member, Flora Bilott of Tidioute, recently competed at the 2024 Genbu-Kai Karate Tournament. The traditional-format tournament was held June 29, in New Castle. Bilott won three medals in her fighting, weapons, and forms divisions placing 1st in Weapons, and 2nd in fighting and forms. Bilott is currently rated No. 1 by the AAU for Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Denise and Ben Bilott of Tidioute.
Police release name of man, 26, killed in Steuben County crash
COHOCTON, N.Y. — New York State Police say Adrian Gregory-Kielbasa, 26, is the name of the man who died in a rollover crash in Steuben County. The Angelica resident was killed after the minivan he was in left the road and rolled over on Wednesday just before 5 p.m. It happened in the Town of Cohocton on State Route 371 near State Route 21.
DNA confirms human remains found in Tioga County were those of missing Westfield woman
The family of a Tioga County, Pennsylvania woman finally has closure a year after she went missing, and eight months after her car and human remains were located. Phyllis Potter, 85, of Westfield, disappeared July 21, 2023, triggering a massive search by Pennsylvania State Police at Mansfield and other agencies, along with hundreds of citizen volunteers.

Cindy Rose Keating, 67, Andover
ANDOVER – Cindy Rose Keating, 67, passed away on Sunday (June 30, 2024) at home following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Keating was born on June 6, 1957 in Kittery, Maine to Robert and Barbara (Richardson) Smith. On July 11, 2015, on the Keating Farm, she married Richard C. Keating who survives. Cindy worked as a bartender and waitress, most recently at the Village Pub in Andover. She worked for nine years at Saputo’s in Friendship and she worked along with her husband on the Keating Farm.

The Hornell Steamers scored in every inning as they defeated the Horseheads Hitmen 17-3 on Wednesday night. Hornell is now 15-7-1 on the season and 9-3-1 at Maple City Park. BOLIVAR — Four individuals were honored with induction into the New York State Oil Producers’ Association Wall of Fame at the Pioneer Oil Museum. Honored during the June 28 ceremony were the late J.F. “Dutch” Dunning, Jim Eucken, Dean Phillips and Dick Smith, each of whom made significant contributions to the oil and gas industry in the Twin Tiers of New York and Pennsylvania.
