Cindy Rose Keating, 67, Andover
ANDOVER – Cindy Rose Keating, 67, passed away on Sunday (June 30, 2024) at home following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Keating was born on June 6, 1957 in Kittery, Maine to Robert and Barbara (Richardson) Smith. On July 11, 2015, on the Keating Farm, she married Richard C. Keating who survives. Cindy worked as a bartender and waitress, most recently at the Village Pub in Andover. She worked for nine years at Saputo’s in Friendship and she worked along with her husband on the Keating Farm.

Dr. Rieth brings Otolaryngology specialty to Hornell NY. Dr. Rieth graduated from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine, where she earned her medical degree. She then pursued her residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, honing her skills and gaining valuable experience in the field of Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) care.
Allegany County annouces road closures for July 2024
County road work in Amity, Scio, and Independence will NOT HAVE DETOURS. CLOSURE OF PORTION OF COUNTY ROAD 31A IN THE TOWN OF AMITY. Please be advised County Road 31A from Back River Road to Eymer Road will be closed from July 8 until July 11 to replace a culvert pipe. There will not be an on-site detour and motorists are urged to seek alternate routes. Thank you for your cooperation.
Steamers Win Again Last Night
The Hornell Steamers kept rolling as they defeated the Dansville Gliders 10-6 on the 4th of July. The Steamers improve to 16-7-1 and 10-3-1 at Maple City Park. The Steamers got going early once again. Alex Dupuy (LSU Eunice) started the scoring with a RBI double and Markus Brehm (Finger Lakes CC) made it 2-0 with a sacrifice fly.

WELLSVILLE — The Allegany County Democratic Committee opened the doors to its 2024 headquarters Monday evening with the help of congressional candidate Tom Carle. The headquarters at 84 N. Four inducted into NYS Oil Producers’ Association Wall of Fame
BOLIVAR — Four individuals were honored with induction into the New York State Oil Producers’ Association Wall of Fame at the Pioneer Oil Museum. Honored during the June 28 ceremony were the late J.F. “Dutch” Dunning, Jim Eucken, Dean Phillips and Dick Smith, each of whom made significant contributions to the oil and gas industry in the Twin Tiers of New York and Pennsylvania. The Wall of Fame began in 2005 and now has 70 inductees with the inclusion of this year’s class.
