Wellsville man charged in connection with Steuben County shooting death
A Wellsville man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a shooting death Saturday morning, Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reported. Bradly J. Maddalena, 24, of County Road 18, has been remanded to Steuben County Jail without bail. He is accused of slaying Wayne E. Mosher, 57, of the Town of Woodhull.

Body of teen killed in Genesee River drowning recovered
ORAMEL — The body of a 15-year-old child killed in an apparent swimming accident in the Genesee River on Thursday evening was recovered Friday morning. Amity-based troopers reported two teens were swimming in the river at about 8 p.m. near Oramel Hill Road. One of the children, whose identity was not immediately released, was swept away by the current and did not resurface.

Shawn Patrick Baker, 54, of Corning, N.Y was charged by Pennsylvania State Police with driving under the influence of alcohol impaired/incapable of driving safely, operating vehicle without ignition interlock, driving while BAC .02 or greater while license suspended, driving while operator privilege suspended or revoked and operating with no rear lights. The vehicle was stopped May 12 when the officer observed an inoperable third brake light.
Osceola explores wate service
In response to residents requesting garbage service, the Osceola Township supervisors talked to a local waste hauler prior to the June 13 meeting. The supervisors evaluated the number of bags and the cost of the proposal and learned that those living in the area served by the municipal water service could be included in the proposal. Knoxville council reviews complaints of unkempt properties
Multiple concerns were addressed during the June 17 meeting of the Knoxville borough council including tall grass and overgrown trees. The council heard a complaint about a private yard that has not been mowed. The owner was contacted and given time to mow the yard, however, it has not been taken care of. A lien could be placed on the property if the borough mows the lawn.
