Who is Vin Kruttiventi?

Vin (Vinay) Kruttiventi (Republican Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent California’s 14th Congressional District and is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024. having advanced from the primary on March 5, 2024.

Entrepreneur Vin Kruttiventi (49) was born in Hyderabad, India, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Osmania University in 1996. He is heavily influenced by his grandfather, a former freedom fighter who worked beside Gandhi, and his father, who was a leading journalist in India. He lives with his wife and two daughters in Pleasanton.

During his career, Kruttiventi founded several successful startups, and is the CEO of digital consulting company A5, which he has been successfully growing for twenty years. He serves on the board of several technology user groups. As chairman of his own philanthropic foundation, the Vinay Kruttiventi Foundation (VKF), he works with nonprofit organizations and small businesses in the Greater Bay Area Tri-Valley region and provides mentoring, community engagement, and financial support to promote vibrant communities.

He is endorsed by the Alameda County Republican Party, the California Republican Party, and the Pleasanton Police Officers Association.

Why he is running for office

On Bay Area GOP.com , Kruttiventi describes himself as “a fiscally conservative, country-first person who is trying to bring communities together for a positive change.” California’s 14th District Congressional District 14, currently represented by Democrat Eric Swalwell, runs from San Leandro south to northern Fremont and east to Livermore.  It includes Hayward, Union City, Pleasanton, and portions of other communities including Dublin, Fremont, Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, San Leandro, Cherryland,  Ashland, Sunol, and Fairview

Vin is an advocate for job creation in the 14th District, providing skill-building opportunities to workers in the district and helping Fortune 500 companies across the globe problem-solve and streamline processes.

He says, “I came to this country with nothing and have built a successful business and a good life for myself and my family. I am determined to use my skills and experience to make a difference in the lives of others.”

His one-minute pitch to voters

According to GOP.com , Kruttiventi says he is “not your typical politician. I’m not a career bureaucrat or a special interest mouthpiece. I’m a successful businessman, a family man, and a true patriot who’s fed up with the status quo. I’m running for Congress to bring common sense and a fresh perspective to Washington. I’m running to fight for the jobs, the economy, and the safety and security of all Americans. And I’m running to ensure that our government works for you, not vice versa.”

On ballotpedia.org , Kruttiventi says his focus “lies in elevating the standards of education, fighting inflation, increasing national security and border security, extending support to our esteemed elders, and dismantling the bureaucratic obstacles that burden small businesses.” He wants to:

Uplift and empower small businesses by reducing regulations, increasing access to capital, and providing resources for growth. He says,” Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy. They create jobs, drive innovation, and support our communities. I will fight to create a business-friendly environment that helps small businesses grow and succeed. I will support policies that cut taxes for small businesses, reduce regulations, and make it easier for entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses.”

Support laws that increase access to Medicare and Medicaid. He says, “One of our most valuable resources is our aging population. We must make sure they have access to the assistance and care they require in order to have happy and healthy lives. I will fight to support laws that increase access to Medicare and Medicaid, make prescription medications more accessible, and spend money on long-term care services. Additionally, We need practical solutions that will allow existing and future elderly folks to maintain their quality of life. I will fight to build and promote an economy with assisted living employment that is competitive with other private sector occupations.”

Invest in National and Border Security. He says, ” I will work to ensure that our military is strong and well equipped, and that our intelligence agencies have the resources they need to protect us from threats both foreign and domestic. I will also work to strengthen our alliances with other countries and to promote peace and stability around the world. ” He plans to secure the Southern Border by enforcing immigration laws and creating a realistic, accessible, and legal pathway to citizenship

Kruttiventi also wants to restore fiscal stability by lowering taxes on the middle class, cutting wasteful government spending, reducing the national debt, and balancing the budget. He wants to ensure every child has a first-class education regardless of background or zip code.

What challenges do Americans face?

As a moderate Republican, Kruttventi adds he will find ways to bridge the partisan divide in a country more politically divided than ever before, which makes” it difficult to get things done in Washington.”

Another challenge that poses a threat to democracy and the economy is the gap between the rich and the poor that is growing wider in America, and requires solutions to promote economic growth and opportunity for all.

On his website Kruttiventi says he opposes radical attempts to defund the police and will invest more in local police agencies and holding criminals accountable. He also believes in returning Congress to being a place of service instead of a career destination and says he will lead the fight for term limits.
