Autumn Acoustics: A Night Of Music & Generosity

On October 19, 2024, an inspiring evening unfolded at the “Autumn Acoustics” annual fundraiser held in Saratoga, as Enabling Leadership welcomed supporters to a magical night of music and heartfelt conversations.

The event was dedicated to supporting Enabling Leadership’s mission of empowering underserved children with leadership skills through its creative programs – EL Play (soccer), EL Create (Music), and EL Build (Lego).

The fundraiser featured acoustic performances by celebrated musicians and storytelling sessions, bringing together a community passionate about making a difference. The night was filled with performances such as “College Days”, a nostalgic Beatles tribute by Sanjay Subramanian and Chandran Sankaran, as well as “Melodious Thunk,” a renowned band that reimagines classic rock and folk covers, creating an ambiance of soulful harmony.

In between musical moments, attendees were moved by “Defying the Impossible,” a deeply touching story presented by Ravi Sonnad, CEO and founder of Enabling Leadership, spotlighting the impact the organization has had on more than 10,000 underserved students.

Ravi Sonnad, who is currently visiting the United States of America founded Enabling Leadership with a vision to equip under-served children enrolled in government or low-income schools with essential leadership skills to help them break the cycle of poverty.

“Over 800 million children in socio-economic hardship lack essential skills like problem-solving, collaboration, and communication, keeping them trapped in poverty. By 2027, India, Southeast Asia, and Africa will have the largest youth workforce, with these gaps most evident among low-income youth. Enabling Leadership empowers 9-15-year-olds from underprivileged backgrounds through music, football, and Lego, equipping them with life skills to break the poverty cycle. We currently reach 10,000 children in 125 low-income schools across India, Singapore, Cambodia, and Kenya”, said Ravi.

Recently, Enabling Leadership also participated in the Sevathon 2024 marathon and the Microsoft Give events in the Bay region to raise funds for its cause.

These events highlight Enabling Leadership’s continued commitment to transforming the lives of children through its unique approach of combining education with play, music, and building activities. The funds raised during the events will directly support Enabling Leadership’s efforts to expand its reach and ensure that more children from underserved communities can participate in its programs.
