Buffaloes Aim to Boost Special Teams with Key Players Returning
The Colorado Buffaloes, under the leadership of head coach Deion Sanders, aim to enhance their special teams performance this season with key players returning. Last year, while their special teams were solid, the return of experienced players like punter Mark Vassett and kickers Alejandro Mata and Jace Feely could propel improvements. Sanders highlighted Vassett's professionalism and ability to control the ball, which positioned the Buffs well strategically. Vassett averaged 44.4 yards per punt last season, showcasing his capability to pin opponents deep. With a focus on refining their craft, the team remains optimistic about building on last year's foundation.
CU Buffs Look to Improve Defense with New Coordinator and Transfers
The Colorado Buffaloes aim to improve their defensive performance under new coordinator Robert Livingston after a dismal previous season, which saw them rank near the bottom nationally in points and yards allowed. Senior defensive tackle Chidozie Nwankwo expresses confidence in the revamped defensive line, bolstered by 11 transfers, including former stars from top programs. Head coach Deion Sanders believes that the increased experience and depth across the defensive positions will facilitate Livingston's tailored approach to maximize player strengths. With players showing heightened hunger and teamwork, the Buffs are gearing up for a much-anticipated season.
Must-see TV: Coach Prime’s Buffs aim to produce wins, as well as ratings
Ohio State had no reason to concern itself with Colorado in 2023. The Buckeyes and Buffaloes aren’t in the same conference. They haven’t played each other since 2011. And, the 2023 Buckeyes didn’t play anyone that faced CU, so there was no reason to even scout a game in which the Buffs were involved.
Broncos Expected to Explore Trade Options for $7 Million ‘Luxury’ Player
The Denver Broncos are going young. They are the ninth-youngest team in the NFL heading into the 2024-25 season, per Bookies.com’s Bill Speros on August 20. That could be bad news for veteran running back Samaje Perine, who could be a victim of the numbers game. Roster cutdown day is on August 27 and the Broncos will have to trim down from 90 players to 53 for the regular season.
15 Broncos players who could play for other teams in Week 1
The Denver Broncos are set to play their final preseason game on Sunday, then they will have to make 38 roster moves to get down to a 53-man roster by Tuesday afternoon. Some players the Broncos cut could be picked up by other clubs, and Denver might attempt to make a trade or two as well.

Rooney: Bowl within sight, but CU Buffs could run gamut in 2024
The CU Buffs, under Coach Deion Sanders, are set for a pivotal 2024 season with expectations for improvement after a tumultuous 2023 season that ended 4-8. With a roster overhaul largely completed, key players like quarterback Shedeur Sanders and all-around talent Travis Hunter signal a chance for the Buffs to contend for a bowl bid, needing a 6-6 record to qualify. However, inconsistency and injuries remain challenges, making predictions unpredictable—ranging anywhere from a solid 8-4 to another disappointing 4-8 finish. Winning early rivalry games against Nebraska and Colorado State will be critical to build momentum before facing the rigors of the Big 12. If they can establish a stronger offensive line and provide Sanders the support he needs, the outlook could brighten significantly.
