The weather held out. We just have to really thank all the community members,” Ambassador of the Thunder Bay Walleye Club Romeo Bourdage said. Fishing is a big economy booster for Alpena and this competition brings a lot of revenue. “This opportunity for Alpena is huge. The money that it brings in exceeds $340,000 of economic impact. Alpena, our fishing industry here, is a phenomenal thing. The one that won was actually a Saginaw Bay fisherman who brought his son, and they were able to put two good days of fishing together to do it.” Bourdage said.
