Indiana Fever Star Officially Playing In Olympics

The 2024 Paris Olympics is just a few weeks away and the Indiana Fever will officially be represented in the worldwide event.

Fever guard Kristy Wallace has been added to the Australian women's basketball team. She will join a multitude of other WNBA players on the roster, including:

• Alanna Smith — Minnesota Lynx
• Rebecca Allen — Phoenix Mercury
• Ezi Magbegor — Seattle Storm
• Sami Whitcomb — Seattle Storm
• Jade Melbourne — Washington Mystics
• Stephanie Talbot — Los Angeles Sparks

Wallace represented Australia in the 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, where they finished third, taking home the bronze medal. Team USA finished first in that tournament. This will be her first Olympic appearance.

The Australian women's team also participated in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but failed to earn a medal.

New York Liberty coach Sandy Brondello led their last Olympics squad and will likely be the head coach for Australia this year.

In 20 games played with the Fever in the 2024 season, Wallace is averaging 5.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. The former Baylor Bears star has started for most of the season alongside Caitlin Clark in the backcourt but recently lost her starting job to Katie Lou Samuelson.

Australia will tip off its 2024 Olympics on Monday, July 29, against Nigeria.
