Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever welcomed the No. 1 team in the Eastern Conference, the New York Liberty, on Saturday. The Liberty came into the matchup with a 3-0 season series lead, but Indiana sent them back to the Big Apple with an 83-78 loss.

Following the game, Liberty head coach Sandy Brondello spoke on the main reasoning for New York's defeat.

"Anyone can beat anyone in this league," said Brondello, per Myles Ehrlich on X.

Brondello believes they were outplayed in the second half, and it seems the Liberty may have come into the matchup downplaying their opponent.

"They executed better than us down the stretch. Anyone can beat anyone in this league, we have to bring the same focus for every opponent."

Some Indiana stars put up incredible stat lines during the Fever's win. Clark recorded the first triple-double by a rookie in WNBA history with 19 points, 13 assists, and 12 rebounds. Aliyah Boston scored 18 points and brought down eight boards, and NaLyssa Smith posted 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Liberty entered Gainbridge Fieldhouse as one of the hottest teams in the league. They've won eight of their last 10 games, but the Fever halted them in their path, handing New York its fourth loss of the season.

Clark and the Fever have played the Liberty various times this season, and it's clear that Indiana is a much-improved team. They've grown with time as chemistry builds inside the locker room.
