The WNBA schedule is currently paused for the 2024 Paris Olympics, as the league will be on a break until August 15th. This will give players a much needed opportunity to regroup, especially those from the 2024 WNBA Draft class that have had little rest time since finishing their collegiate seasons.

This includes Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, whose break was delayed a bit while she took part in All-Star Weekend. Enjoying Phoenix for the All-Star festivities, Clark was embraced by the city during her first All-Star Game.

Showing appreciation for Phoenix, Clark sent a two-word message to Mercury guard Sophie Cunningham in an Instagram comment:

    "Shoutout Phoenix," Clark wrote.

Cunningham was one of the players openly recruiting Clark during the All-Star Game, as the Mercury guard was caught by ESPN mics asking the Fever guard if she wants to come to Phoenix.

This interaction is why Clark's recent Phoenix comments have been turning heads online, but it seems there is nothing more to them than a level of appreciation for this year's All-Star Game host.

Clark finished with a rookie-record 10 assists in the All-Star Game, which helped Team WNBA defeat Team USA. Enjoying her time in Phoenix, Clark now gets several weeks to recharge for what should be an exciting second half of the WNBA season.

Indiana enters the break 11-15 on the season, which is good for the seventh seed. The top-eight records make the WNBA playoffs, which means Indiana would be in if the season ended now.
