    Crash on northwest side of Indianapolis leaves motorcyclist dead

    INDIANAPOLIS — A crash on the northwest side of Indianapolis left a motorcyclist dead on Friday night.

    According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to the 8200 block of North Michigan Road around 6 p.m. on a report of a personal injury crash. Officers arrived and ultimately determined an SUV and motorcycle had collided.

    Pike Emergency Medical Services transported the motorcyclist from the scene in critical condition. The driver was later pronounced dead, per IMPD.

    The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the motorcyclist as Jaylen Thomas Crowder, a 20-year-old man, on Monday.

    Police reported that the driver of the SUV remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. IMPD indicated that the SUV’s driver did not sustain any injuries.

    IMPD-certified crash investigators have responded to the area to investigate the incident.
