INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan police called in the SWAT team as a precaution Tuesday morning.

According to IMPD, officers received a call around 4:30 a.m. for a “domestic disturbance” at an apartment in the 200 block of Michigan Street. Police later said they encountered a “person in crisis” at the location.

Responding officers asked for assistance from the SWAT team as a precautionary measure. Police said the situation ended peacefully without any forced entry. Medics took a person out of the residence on a stretcher.

More than a dozen police cars responded to the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
