STATEWIDE –Heat, humidity, and rain are all things that are supposed to move into Indiana this weekend.

“With dew points in the 70s and highs in the 90s, that’s going to create some uncomfortable conditions to say the least,” said Matt Eckhoff, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

A total of five tornadoes have been confirmed to hit Indiana on Tuesday when the remnants of Hurricane Beryl moved through. The strongest tornado from Tuesday is the one that impacted Mt. Vernon at EF-3 strength with 140 mph winds.

“The upcoming weather pattern does not support anything similar to Beryl thankfully,” said Eckhoff.

He does, however, believe Indianapolis and points north of there could get some rain.

“There are some weak weather systems moving to the north and that might trigger some showers and thunderstorms. Lightning and brief heavy rainfall are all possible. A few places might get a heavy downpour at times, especially Saturday or Sunday,” said Eckhoff.

Despite that, Eckhoff doesn’t anticipate the weather being severe this weekend.
