Pulitzer Prize finalist 'What the Constitution Means to Me' coming to Indianapolis

American Lives Theatre has fashioned its fifth season around the theme of "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit." Across five plays, the company will explore topics that include the Constitution, the impact of crime on women and the price of success.

The 2024-2025 season will kick off in September with "What the Constitution Means to Me," a 2019 Pulitzer Prize finalist that examines the document's effect on women. The dark comedy "Aspen Ideas" — with its satire of fame, wealth and ambition — will end the season.

'What the Constitution Means to Me'

By Heidi Schreck. Sept. 5-22

A woman who was a successful debate speaker as a teen visits the Constitution as an adult to explore how it shaped the women in her family in this election-year play, which American Lives is co-producing with Stage Door Productions.

'The JonBenet Game'

By Tori Keenan-Zelt. Jan. 10-26, 2025. At IndyFringe, 719 E. St. Clair St.

Rae and Molly grew up playing a game inspired by JonBenet Ramsey — a memory that returns once more when Rae's 12-year-old daughter starts inquiring after Molly's unexpected death.

'Red Speedo'
